Oxfam wants to name 35 countries on tax blacklist

Oxfam has asked for 35 countries on a soon-to-be published blacklist of tax havens to be "named and shamed".

It's believed the list, compiled by the European Union and due to be published on 5th December, does NOT include the Isle of Man.

However, Oxfam names such well-known jurisdictions as Jersey, Bermuda, Singapore, Switzerland and the Cayman Islands.

Oxfams list, based on a combination of a country's tax transparency, tax rate and participation in global anti-tax avoidance agreements, is topped by Alabania and the Faroe Islands.

It includes ten countries whose corporate registries form part of the Paradise Papers.

Jersey is listed at number 20.
