Department says windfarm develop hasn't yet shown it can access proposed landfall sites
The Department of Infrastructure is yet to see clear evidence of construction feasibility at either of the potential sites for landfall for the Mooir Vannin windfarm.
The proposals, which are currently being scrutinised by a panel as part of the examination process, could see the energy generated by the 87 turbines brought onshore into the Manx grid and interconnector.
Orsted's preferred site would be Groudle, but it's also considered using Port Skillion.
Celine Skinner, a representative of the DoI, says the firm hasn't yet shown the roads leading to these areas could handle the construction traffic.
But Sam Taylor, a traffic planner representing Orsted says a range a tried and tested options are available to access sites needed for landfall:
