MHK expresses concern over government pay scales
Michael MHK Alfred Cannan says he’s concerned by figures that show the government may have fewer workers than five years ago – but more earning top wages.
In Tynwald he quizzed Chief Minister Allan Bell about how many employees earned £50,000 in 2011 and how many do so now.
When it emerged 70 more people earned above that figure, compared to five years ago, Mr Cannan said he wanted more information.
He says most alarming is the number of people at the very top of the government’s pay scales:
