Ashford outlines vision for overseas care
Advances in technology should lead to fewer people traveling off-Island for treatment, according to the health minister.
David Ashford outlined his vision for overseas care in answer to a House of Keys written question from Ramsey member Lawrie Hooper.
A comprehensive report on exactly what services should be provided here, and what will have to be carried out elsewhere, is expected by March next year.
Mr Ashford believes the onset of telemedicine should reduce the strain on some patients:
