MHKs say retaining GP surgery is 'top priority'

It follows the announcement Snaefell Surgery is set to close

The MHKs for Douglas South say maintaining the Snaefell Surgery is their ‘top priority’.

Claire Christian and Paul Quine have responded after it was confirmed the GP practice is handing back its contract.

Partners there have blamed ‘wholly insufficient’ funding from the department of health and social care.

Both politicians say they’ve been contacted by constituents who are ‘quite rightly concerned’ about the future of the service.

They say they remain fully committed to ensuring the practice continues and are hopeful the situation can be ‘resolved swiftly’.
