Issue of concrete raised in Tynwald
Issues with the red concrete used in the redevelopment of Douglas promenade were raised during Tynwald.
Douglas East MHK Clare Barber says she is not satisfied with a description by Department of Infrastructure member Tim Baker that the cracking is minor.
Ms Barber's comments followed a Tynwald debate into the government support being offered to businesses affected by the scheme.
She says the term 'minor' was not convincing:
The reports can be found on the goverment's freedom of information site by searching for 'defective concrete Douglas promenade'.
John Moss's full interview with Ms Barber and her fellow Douglas East MHK, Chris Robertshaw, can be heard below.
He began by asking Mr Robertshaw about some of the points he raised during the debate about government support for the businesses on the prom:
Firefighters attend late night gorse fire at the Point of Ayre
MHK frustrated DOI hasn't yet submitted horse tram business plan
"We think it's inhumane the way he was treated."
