Police investigating alleged assault at Onchan Commissioners

Officers say they have been made 'formally aware' of the incident

The Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed that it will be investigating an alleged assault by an Onchan Commissioner after its July meeting. 

Officers say they have been made 'formally aware' of the incident and will not be making any further comments as enquiries continue. 

David Quirk claims he acted in 'self-protection' and put his hands up in a defensive manner following verbal abuse.

In its July minutes, Onchan Commissioners agreed to arrange an independent investigation into the matter.
