Urgent question tabled for June sitting of Tynwald
The chief minister will be quizzed about whether additional security measures have been put in place at Island ports following an attack in Belfast.
An urgent question has been tabled for this month’s sitting of Tynwald.
Onchan MHK Julie Edge will also ask Alfred Cannan what assessment has been made of the implications for the Island following ‘recent events’.
It follows a knife attack in the north of the city last Monday (8 June) in which a man suffered serious wounds.
A 30-year-old Sudanese man has been charged with attempted murder.
It led to protests and disorder across the city - you can find out more HERE.
There are 10 other questions on the question paper for June including how Manx Care coped with the TT, parking provision at Arbory School and in relation to the horse tram business case.
The business case itself appears on a supplementary order paper after the Department of Infrastructure missed the deadline to submit it.
The minister will ask Tynwald to note the draft document for the reinstatement of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway to the Sea Terminal which it says could cost up to £3 million.
You can find out more HERE.
Amendments to the Assisted Dying Bill will also be discussed and there will be a supplementary vote for almost £21 million of extra funding for Manx Care.
The sitting will start at 10am; you can listen live HERE.
