Charity says it only allows it in "exceptional circumstances"
The ManxSPCA says it's "cautious" about letting people adopt pets as a present over the festive period.
The charity - which cares for lost or abandoned animals - will still be operating during the holidays.
However it's urging people to think really carefully about the realities of owning a pet before gifting one.
