Volunteer constables 'closest to reality'
Special constables have their ear close to the ground on the real problems in society.
That's the message from the Isle of Man Constabulary's Specials Superintendent, Sonia Rowe.
Volunteer officers are now being trained on how to detect serious crime, and their progress is being logged as part of a major UK research training development project.
This week, they're being briefed on the telltale signs of child sexual exploitation.
Superintendent Rowe explains why the Island's Specials are in such a unique position:
Former DOI minister expecting new CRHS to be 'over the £70 million mark'
"Rapid review" into bed capacity at Noble's Hospital
Still 'very low risk' of meningitis outbreak on Island
MHK 'disappointed but not surprised' over secondary school delay
