Manx rivers in 'excellent' condition says DEFA

98% score in relation to chemical status

Manx waterways are in ‘excellent’ condition.

That’s the verdict following an ongoing testing regime by officers from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.

Recent high-profile incidents have highlighted the polluted state of many UK rivers.

July 2023 is likely to be one of the wettest for some time but for the flora and fauna of the Island's waterways it's been generally good news.
