Year 11s set to go on study leave over the next week
Police have issued a warning to year 11 school leavers about the 'serious consequences' of underage drinking.
With students set to go on study leave, it's expected there will be a number of large gatherings in public spaces over the next week.
Pupils in this age group will be leaving school today (24 April) and others next Friday (1 May).
The Isle of Man Constabulary says it's aware of recent social media posts which seem to suggest or even support the use of alcohol whilst underage.
Police say they are not here to control young people, rather keep them safe.
They add they will be paying particular attention to certain areas and if a child is located in a condition where they cannot keep themselves safe they will be calling parents or guardians to collect them.
