The CEO of Manx Care says the health body is working through waiting times for orthopaedic surgery 'way in excess' than it would want.
There's currently a focus on hip and knee replacements, and specialist provider Synaptik was brought in earlier this year to help manage the backlog of more than 350 patients.
Teresa Cope says they're working towards a referral-to-treatment time of 18 weeks:
'We funded those out of our savings, in fact I had to cash in my part of my pension.'
