Manx Blind Welfare Society seeks new volunteers

Charity provides services for 500 visually impaired Islanders

The Manx Blind Welfare Society has reiterated the integral role volunteers play in its operations.

The local charity relies on helpers - both old and new - to help facilitate the support it provides for around 500 blind and visually impaired people on the Island.

A variety of roles are required, including driving work, library duties, recording weekly bulletins and participating in member activities, to name but a few. 

Full training will be given to those who wish to get involved.

Volunteers Coordinator and Events Organiser Debbie Thompson says without the support of the volunteer network, the charity wouldn't have the capability to provide vital services to the blind and visually impaired people on the Island.
