Man denies performing sex acts in front of co-workers

A shopworker accused of performing sex acts in front of horrified co-workers will appear in court again in the New Year.

Twenty-six-year-old Thomas James Hall, of Bradda West Road in Port Erin, denied two charges of provoking behaviour when he appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing Mr Hall works at the Manx Co-operative store on The Parade in Castletown and both offences took place in the staff-only areas of the shop.

On 25 November, one woman claimed he’d been touching himself under his clothing while she was in the room.

Miss Cubbon told the hearing on 5 December, another female member of staff came forward claiming to have seen Mr Hall touching himself in the staff canteen.

Both Mr Hall’s alleged victims later told officers of their shock and horror, while Mr Hall denied wrongdoing and said he’d been scratching his groin at the time.

Mrs Hughes granted bail in the sum of £500, ordering him not to contact either of the prosecution witnesses except in the case of unavoidable and unplanned ways at work.

Mr Hall will appear in court again on 18 February.
