Loganair 'pressing ahead' with Birmingham to Isle of Man route

Announcement due in the coming weeks

Loganair says it's pressing ahead with its plans to restore the former Flybe route linking Birmingham with the Isle of Man.  

Multiple airlines were in talks over providing the route in March, prior to Covid-19 affecting commercial air travel.

The airline says any updates will be subject to the Island's lockdown restrictions and quarantine measures.

The company expects to make a formal announcement about the launch of this service in the coming weeks.

On 21 May, EasyJet announced plans to resume Liverpool and Gatwick routes from 15 June despite lockdown measures remaining in place on the Island.

Speaking at the latest government coronavirus conference (1 June) Chief Minister Howard Quayle announced that the airline had since reconsidered, following talks with gov't:

Meanwhile, those wishing to return to the Island via government's repatriation scheme will be able to do so by air from 11 June.
