Local company launches biodiversity grant to support conservation and research

Application close at the end of June

A local eDNA testing company is offering free environmental DNA analysis for schools, researchers, charities and community groups.

Taxa Genomics, based in Douglas, operates globally across commercial sectors.

The Taxa Genomics Biodiversity Grant delivers testing services directly, with each successful applicant receiving eDNA and/or species identification analysis equivalent in value to between £1,000 and £5,000.

It can identify what species inhabit an area, whether there are legally protected or invasive species and build a comprehensive biodiversity profile

The first round of application closes on Tuesday, 30 June.

Dr Glover has declared her intention to stand in the constituency of Onchan in the upcoming General Election.

The other candidates who have declared so far include sitting MHKs Rob Callister and Julie Edge as well as Gabriella Corkish and Oliver Lockwood.
