Licences to be issued for mineral prospecting

The Government is about to issue licenses to those firms who want to see what minerals there might be on certain Manx uplands.

An initial "expression of interest" survey has produced enough feedback to prompt the government pushing ahead with issuing licenses on four areas, round Rushen Mines in the South, in the area of Snaefell and also round Sartfell, in the West.

They are all areas owned by the Government.
