Work could start in September, subject to planning
Plans for King William's College and The Buchan School to be on one campus have been released.
Towards the end of last year it was proposed the Buchan would move to the same site as KWC ahead of the 2024-25 academic year.
The private school says it's part of a series of bold proposals designed to secure the future of independent education on the Isle of Man.
A statement says following careful planning with a professional design team, multiple scenarios were explored and presented to the Governing Board in April.
The plans were then presented to parents and staff this week.
The announcement includes preliminary designs and mood boards and a timeline outlining the consolidation process, which you can find here.
Subject to planning, construction could start in September and it's anticipated it would take around eight months.
Principal Damian Henderson says: 'We are thrilled to reveal the overarching vision of consolidating our School onto one site.
'This marks the commencement of an extraordinary journey and, while there are technical details to be ironed out, we are eager to involve our community every step of the way.
This consolidation represents an exhilarating new chapter for King William’s College and The Buchan School.'
