Manx Fish Producers Association says English Channel catch has saturated the market
The amount of king scallops being caught in Manx waters this year is 'really strong', but prices for those exporting their catch are down.
David Beard from the Manx Fish Producers Association says an abundance of stock from the English Channel has saturated the market across and in France, where around 95 percent of Manx king scallops are exported to.
The season opened at the start of November; 90 percent of vessels landed their daily catch limit within a few hours of heading out to sea.
But Dr Beard says the lack of limits elsewhere are having an effect:
