Lib Van leader wants options considered
The House of Keys is discussing a motion to try and save the Horse trams this morning (Tues)
Lib Van leader Kate Beecroft was granted permission to introduce the motion calling for action, in the face of the announcement from Douglas Council last week to scrap the 140 year old service.
Mrs Beecroft wants a committee to be set up to look at options to transfer the trams to another body.
The House decided to allow the debate to be broadcast live on Manx Radio's AM 1368 service.
Mrs Beecroft told MHKs that whilst she understood the decision of Douglas Council, she felt the fate of the Horse tram service was a national issue which needed debating by national politicians.
