Friendship across continents inspires ride
An Onchan woman is embarking on a virtual parish cycle ride today (19 Nov) raising funds to help support a Ugandan family.
Kathryn Williams has a disability and is cycling 45 miles on an exercise bike at the NSC - equivalent to reaching Jurby.
She's taking-on the tough challenge to help her Ugandan friend Andrew Wansonele, who came to the Island to run the youth group at St Ninian's Church.
Now back in his home country, Mr Wansonele looks after his family, many of whom are HIV positive and have no electricity or running water.
Ms Williams says she was inspired by his dedication to the Island's young people and wants to give something back.
The cycle begins at 1pm in the foyer of the NSC.
