MHK believes lack of options could stop people moving to the Island

The availability of credit cards on the Isle of Man is reaching 'crisis point' and it could put some off moving to the Island.

That's the belief of Douglas North MHK David Ashford, who'll be one of a number of Tynwald members raising the topic when the Manx parliament meets this week.

Barclaycard recently sent a letter in error to its Manx customers, stating their accounts would close if they can't provide a UK address.

While the provider has since clarified that's not the case, Mr Ashford says the concern it's caused could impact government's plans to grow the population:
