Former Minister's view on MLC's suggestion
A suggestion that the Isle of Man could do better by ceding its independence has been rubbished by a nationalist former minister.
MLC Juan Turner put forward the idea in a post on social media this week.
He claims making the Island a constituency of Westminster could give us access to UK Government grants, whilst allowing us to 'maintain control' of our finances.
The Isle of Man has been a self-governing Crown Dependency since the eighteenth century.
But Mr Turner's former colleague Phil Gawne says our position makes us richer:
