Treasury minister says increasing number of Manx residents in work would ensure a sustainable economy
The Isle of Man needs more people, who aren't economically active to get back into the workforce to ensure a sustainable economy going forward.
Alex Allinson was responding to calls by an economist for the retirement age to be increased to 72 or 73.
He agreed right across the west there is an ageing population but says people need to be skilled or encouraged to return to work.
Dr Allinson added there's no plans to increase the retirement age on the Isle of Man:
