MU learning lessons from prolonged dry spell
The Island now has enough water - even if the winter is a dry one.
An Island-wide hosepipe ban was lifted by Manx Utilities this morning, seven weeks after it was imposed following a long, hot spell of weather.
Speaking on today's Mandate programme, (Mon 24) MU Chair Dr Alex Allinson said their concern had been the combination of lowering stocks and a very dry long-term forecast.
Thanking the public for their co-operation, he said the authority were now learning lessons from the summer . .
