Infrastructure minister thanks forecasters for Storm Bram warning

DoI began preparations ahead of peak of storm conditions

The infrastructure minister is thanking forecasters for warning the Island of the impact Storm Bram would have here.

A red weather warning was in place for three hours due to the risk posed by coastal overtopping around high tide, while wind speeds in excess of 70mph were recorded at Ronaldsway and more than 100mph on Snaefell.

It led to fallen trees, blocked roads and cancellations for flights and sailings.

Michelle Haywood said the Ronaldsway Met Office's data meant teams in her department were able to put plans in place ahead of the peak of the conditions:
