'If images offend most Islanders, take them down'

MHK wants authorities to have the power to act

If the public display of graphic images offends the majority of Islanders, then authorities should have the power to take them down. 

That's the view of Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, who says if there's a strong public reaction to such displays, then police must be able to act.

House of Keys members were told during this week's sitting that laws were in place to prevent graphic material being displayed publicly.

It followed controversial campaigning methods employed by pro-life group Abort 67, where protestors held up pictures of aborted foetuses to argue their cause.
