Hundreds of Island youngsters are expected to take part in the 2025 Manx Youth Games this weekend.

The annual event will see children in school years two up to ten take part in one of 16 sports held throughout Saturday, 10 May at the NSC and across Douglas and Braddan.

Sports Development Officer at Manx Sport & Recreation, Gareth Lloyd says the occasion has welcomed in the region of 1,000 participants in the years since the Covid pandemic.

He adds whilst being competitive on the day is welcomed, the main focus remains on allowing young people to socialise and exercise in a friendly environment:

The day will begin at the NSC in Douglas with a procession into the athletics stadium at 10am.

All participants are asked to meet specific points around the NSC depending the sport they are taking part in at 9am and no later than 9.30am.

Among the sports this year there are two new additions - volleyball and race walking - with training sessions for all the sports having begun back in January.

Organisers recommend people make their own way to the NSC if possible, alternatively bus services will be provided to and from the games from the north, south, east and west of the Island.

Children using those bus services are asked to tell the driver they're heading to the Manx Youth Games and will then be able to travel free of charge.

All details of the games for both participants and spectators is available HERE.
