Book launch this morning
A book telling the adventures of two Island steam trains will be launched today (Saturday).
‘The Magic Tunnel’ has been written by Edith Quaggin, a station master and volunteer at the Great Mines Laxey Railway.
Her story features the engines which operate the line, Ant and Bee, and will be launched at the Lexicon Bookshop in Douglas between 11am and midday.
Mrs Quaggin, who has both written and illustrated the book, was encouraged by volunteers to bring the workings of the railway to life in a friendly way.
