
Alex Allinson says the budget is an optimistic one
The treasury minister says he is not happy with the current position of Manx Care and is urging the health body to keep to its spending.
In the Budget on Tuesday, Treasury Minister Alex Allinson announced the higher rate of income tax would be reduced by 1% to 21%, while personal allowances are increasing by £250 from April.
But, there were concerns over healthcare spending, the future of the triple lock and the transparency of the budget process itself.

Alex Allinson was answering a listener question on Manx Radio's Breakfast about the health service saying more priority will be going towards primary care like GP services and dentistry among others.
He says Manx Care was created to improve quality and services while adhering to a budget. According to the minister, health and social care have received £100m in supplementary votes since 2019.
