New company takes over today
Health Minister Kate Beecroft is to be questioned again about her decision to change the operator of the patient transfer service in the north west of England.
It was announced earlier this month that Bridgewater - the firm which had been providing the service for much of the last 20 years - had lost out in a tender process.
The move upset some Islanders who felt the company went above and beyond when it came to helping patients out.
ComCab Liverpool is set to take over operations from today (Monday).
