"Hard" to get into conservation without experience, says MWT boss

Manx Wildlife Trust offering four live-in placements each year

The chief executive of Manx Wildlife Trust says it's hard to get into conservation without experience, as the organisation launches a new Island-wide internship programme.

It looks to support early-career conservation professionals.

Four interns will receive training and experience across the charity's land, sea and community projects each year.

They'll live at a restored historic property in Peel; it's hoped this will attract potential interns internationally too.

The scheme is expected to include at least one intern from UK Overseas Territories to share conservation skills between island communities.
