Glen Vine man appears in court after drunken assault on paramedics

Admits assault and provoking behaviour in November last year

A Glen Vine man will be sentenced later this year after abusing two paramedics.

Lee Darbyshire, of Greeba Avenue, admitted assault and provoking behaviour during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.

Emergency services were called to his street on 4 November after the 47-year-old was found in a neighbour's front garden.

He was described as being 'very drunk' and there were fears he'd sustained a head injury.

Once in the ambulance he grabbed a male paramedic by the crotch and made inappropriate remarks towards his female colleague.

A social enquiry report has been requested before Darbyshire is sentenced on 9 May; he’s been bailed until that date.

Update: Darbyshire was fined £1500 and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £125 - you can find out more HERE.
