Local authority says it will cover 'general inflationary pressures'
Garff Commissioners says a five percent increase on its rates will cover 'general inflationary pressures' affecting the parish.
It's been set at 215 pence in the pound which will pay for the civic amenity site provision, disposal charges at the Energy from Waste plant, and refuse collection.
It says the budget includes a five-year contract with Manx Utilities to replace 'inefficient' lighting and also upgrades to the campsite.
The commissioners add the costs of an election for two seats in Lonan Ward has also required funding.
It confirmed that a new vehicle and equipment fund will also be introduced to plan for replacement vehicles and other maintenance machinery.
