Caused by mechanical fault
Douglas fire crews responded to an incident on Battery Pier in Douglas this morning.
At 11:40am, two appliances and the Duty Officer from Douglas Station responded to reports the fire alarms sounding at the Gas site.
On arrival, crews were met by staff on scene who had quickly identified the cause to be a mechanical fault on the alarm system.
In a statement, Station Officer Brian Quirk said: "Thanks to their quick actions the problem was located and rectified quickly and crews were in attendance for approximately 15 minutes".
