Final cost of Ranson review revealed

It's been revealed a Tynwald review into the handling of the Dr Rosalind Ranson case cost more than £327,000.

The Island's former medical director was paid millions of pounds in compensation after a tribunal found she had been unfairly dismissed.

It led to an independent investigation into government's management of the case.

The select committee formed has revealed the final cost of the review as £327,708 in its latest report, which will be brought to next month's Tynwald.

It says it had believed further costs would be incurred after a 'final invoice was received in February 2024' but that 'no longer seems to be the case'.
