Directors of the Family Library say it will cease trading at the end of July and the charity will be closed down.
A statement, published today (25 June), confirms that all lending will cease on 18 July, which includes the mobile library and delivery services.
The organisation has been running for 14 years.
In an initial statement, issued in May, the directors said the organisation had reached a point where it's losing £100,000 each year and is no longer tenable.
It prompted a number of efforts in recent weeks to prevent the charity's closure, with Tynwald asked to urge CoMin to consider stepping in.
An amended motion was approved in Tynwald last week for government to work with the Family Library to assess its financial situation and bring options to the court in October with the aim of 'securing valuable community services.'
Meanwhile, the directors say all events scheduled to take place at the venue will continue up until the final closure date.
The board says there are a number of initiatives and alternative solutions being looked at to run the services going forward.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has assisted us over the past 14 years and, in particular, the stellar staff that have made it what it is.
"I am fortunate to have been there through the entire 14 years, and have been humbled at times by the enthusiasm and the initiative that has driven our interaction with the public.
"I personally am sorry that we are unable to continue to deliver services to deserved recipients, but I at least hope you will appreciate that we gave it 14 more years of life that it would not have otherwise had and in the meantime have preserved the assets and essence of the services which may be usable, in another form, by other people."
The charity is asking people to support the group 'Friends of the Family Library'.
A new Facebook page has been created by the group, which says they 'care deeply about what the Family Library has meant, and could still mean, to our island community.'
