A professor of medieval history says he hopes to be able to broaden his research into the Isle of Man's ancient past and links with Iceland.
Andrew McDonald from Brock University in Ontario, Canada, was on the Isle of Man at the weekend to deliver the second lecture in Manx National Heritage's Forgotten Kingdom lecture series.
It was entitled 'The Manx Sea Kings and the Western Oceans' and dealt with the late Norse Isle of Man in its North Atlantic context from 1079 to 1265.
Professor McDonald praised the current exhibition at the Manx Museum which contains the Chronicles of the Kings of Mann and the Isles, plus some of the Lewis chessmen.
He hopes to visit again to continue his research.
