Part of plan to move to endemic approach
People who contract Covid-19 will no longer be forced to self-isolate by law after March 31.
Government is planning to drop Public Health regulations as part of a move to an endemic approach of living with the virus.
Those who test positive will instead be urged to stay away from work, school or sensitive locations until 48 hours after their symptoms have subsided.
They'll be advised to stay home, keep warm and rest as part of their recovery and keep their distance from others whilst symptomatic.
However people will be allowed to leave their home but will be 'strongly advised' to wear a face covering if they do.
Contact tracing is also being scrapped with no requirement to identify close contacts to Public Health.
