Man to stand trial after denying wounding with intent to murder

20-year-old is currently remanded at the Isle of Man Prison

A man will stand trial next year after denying a charge of wounding another person with intent to cause murder.

Taylor Jake Murphy is currently remanded at the Isle of Man Prison. 

The 20-year-old appeared at the Court of General Gaol Delivery today (Friday 31 July); he entered a not guilty plea to the charge, but pleaded guilty to other offences. 

Murphy admitted robbery, taking a vehicle without consent, two counts of theft and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife.

All the charges relate to alleged incidents around Maughold and Port Cornaa on 5 and 6 October 2025. 

There was no application for bail and Murphy was remanded in custody until his trial on 17 May 2027.
