Emergency services scrambled for three paddleboarders

Laxey Bay

They were being 'taken out to sea' until a dinghy in the bay towed them back to shore

Three paddleboarders were rescued by a dinghy in Laxey Bay yesterday (3 May).

Douglas Coastguard were called to the scene at around midday alongside crews from the RNLI, the Isle of Man Ambulance Service and a Coastguard Helicopter.

The paddleboarders were being 'taken out to sea' and were 'not able to get back to shore' on their own.

In a post on social media, the Coastguard thanked the man who raised the alarm.

It added that 'once ashore the paddleboarders were checked over and found to be no worse for their ordeal'.
