Education chiefs in the Isle of Man are monitoring potential changes in the United Kingdom, but it is unlikely they will impact Manx schools in the short term.
UK Education Secretary Michael Gove has been outlining his vision for the future of education.
His key ambitions would seem to include more tests, longer school days, more extra-curricular activities and better discipline.
One of the more controversial ideas is to formally test four-year-olds to assess their ability at the start of school.
That's something the Island's Director of Education Martin Barrow doesn't agree with:
Mr Barrow says there is no obligation for the Island to adopt any of these practices should they happen in the UK.
But he adds they will keep a close eye on developments there:
