Building has been on dilapidated list since 2019
Douglas Council is offering support for a planning application to turn the former Salvation Army citadel into a 44 bedroom hotel.
The building has been on the council's dilapidated properties list since 2019 and the local authority says if the development is approved it would 'enhance' the city and make use of a property that has a central location.
In a document attached to the planning application the developer says they would demolish the citadel first due to the 'restrictive' nature of it.
The applicant believes around 30 jobs will be created from the proposal.
