Data collection key to waste strategy

Tynwald approves document outlining core policies

A new waste strategy has been approved by Tynwald, but there was some opposition.

Onchan MHK Rob Callister and MLC David Cretney voted against.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer focused on protecting the Island’s biosphere status saying the new approach will be about education and data collection.

Mr Harmer says having data will provide a measure to determine whether the Strategy is a success or not.
