Customer confusion after closure of windows business

Everest's Braddan base closed

The Office of Fair Trading says enquiries are continuing in an attempt to clarify the position for customers of Everest (Isle of Man) Ltd, after the parent company in the UK fell into administration last month.

The Manx company's installation base in Braddan is currently closed.

OFT spokesman Mark Smith, said they have received calls from Everest customers, concerned by the closure.

Everest 2020 in the UK went into administration on the 24th of April - the second time the brand has done so. In a previous guise the company was saved by a rescue deal.

Business advisory firm ReSolve is overseeing the current process, and has so far been unable to find a buyer, though it's understood some assets will be sold to rival Anglian Home Improvements.

In the meantime Anglian have offered to honour orders made by customers with Everest in the UK. A statement on their website claims customers of Everest (Isle of Man) Ltd will still have their work carried out by the Manx company, though a spokesman for the administrators told Manx Radio they weren't aware that was the case.

It's hoped the situation will become clearer in respect of Everest's Island customers in the coming days.
