Chief minister says £150,000 estimate likely to have risen significantly
Proposals for a 'Covid memorial garden' have been put on hold amid 'immense' cost pressures facing the government.
After Tynwald backed calls for the memorial in July 2021, Cooill y Ree gardens were identified as the most appropriate location for the project which was initially estimated to cost £150,000.
Being questioned in Tynwald, Alfred Cannan said he expects that figure to have increased 'significantly'.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked if the memorial could be sped up, but Mr Cannan doesn't think so:
