Proposals by Tesco to add extra floor space to its Douglas store with a new unit in the car park have met with opposition from local councillors.
The authority will this week be told the planned 54 square metre, stand-alone structure for the sale of seasonal goods, is 'expansion by stealth'.
The objection's been raised by the Environmental Services Committee, which says a new sales outlet at the superstore could damage the viability of Douglas town centre.
