Authority calls on central government
Douglas Borough Council is calling on central government to help provide more effective housing stock in the capital.
The authority announced a raft of measures in its 2017 budget - including the eco-friendly refurbishment of 72 properties, and brand new sheltered accommodation in Willaston.
Its yearly housing budget of £12.5 million covers more than 2,300 properties.
But Housing Committee Chair Claire Wells warns there is 'no mechanism in place' to maintain the current level of funding:
