Office a 'guiding light' over Brexit
The siting of a Manx government office in Brussels has been defended by the chief minister.
MHKs were told it cost £169,000 to run the office during 2015-16 and a similar bill was expected this year.
A budget of £189,000 has been allocated.
Howard Quayle said since being established in 2010, officers in Brussels had produced a number of reports and helped further the Island's interests in the EU across a range of challenging issues.
He said that engagement was now more important than ever on matters such as Brexit - an area where the Brussels' office insight has proved invaluable:
Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Plantation wood, telegraph poles and Satnav to be discussed in the House of Keys
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
